If you haven’t caught wind of our Instagram announcement yet, brace yourself for some exciting news: come October, our family will be graced with the presence of our second son! Our gender reveal shindig over the weekend was an absolute blast, and we’re all buzzing with anticipation. With two girls and now two boys on the roster, I’m feeling like the luckiest mama alive.
The excitement in our household is palpable. Little Phayre Bear had a brief moment of disappointment when she realized she wouldn’t be getting the baby sister she had been fervently praying for. But kids bounce back like champions, don’t they? After a quick reality check about the blue smoke indicating a baby brother, she was back to her bouncing, jubilant self, proudly declaring, “OUR BABY IS A BOY!” Thank goodness for the resilience of three-year-olds!
Meanwhile, Sloan is already busy concocting grand plans for sibling Halloween costumes (after all, the baby’s due in October, and she’s convinced the arrival will coincide perfectly with Halloween). Phayre, on the other hand, has developed a newfound obsession with baby clothes, eagerly asking to peruse outfits for her little brother on my phone—like mother, like daughter, I suppose! And our sweet Briar remains blissfully unaware of the impending arrival, though we’re certain he’ll be over the moon to have a new buddy to join the ranks.
As we eagerly await the arrival of our healthy baby boy this fall, Eric and I are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of kindness and love from our community. Your support means the world to us, and we can’t wait to embark on this new chapter of our family journey together.
